7:30AM - FFA Booth
The Crothersville FFA will be hosting breakfast Saturday morning of the festival. Visit the FFA Booth and pick up some Biscuits & Gravy!
Jimmy Stewart 3 on 3 Basketball Tournment
8:00AM - FFA Booth
Tipping off at 8:00am in the main gym is the Jimmy Stewart Memorial 3/3 basketball tourney. Rita Cook is organgizing the event with the proceeds going to the Crothersville Junior High girls basketball team.
CHS Class of 2016 5K Run/Walk
8:30AM- High School Main Entrance
The CHS Class of 2016 will hold a 5K Run/Walk in front of the main entrance of the school beginning at 8:30AM. The age groups are Youth 1: 10-14 years of age, Youth 2: 15-18 years of age , Adult Male: 19-39 years of age , Adult Female: 19-39 years of age , Adult Male: 40+ years , and Adult Female: 40+ years. You will be running on a flat terrain which is exceptionally nice for running. This course takes you through the many different parts of Crothersville. You will be provided with drinks at the mid point of the race and snacks at the end. There will also be door prizes at the end. You may register by visiting our registration page and send it by mail to the address listed.
Pie & Cake Contest
10AM- Gymnasium Lobby
At 10AM entries for the Pie & Cake contest can be submitted in the lobby entrance of the main gymnasium until 11AM. Categories for the pies are fruit, cream, your specialty, and cobblers. For the cakes the categories are; Layer, Sheet, decorated, and your specialty. Judging will begin at 11:15AM. Winners will be announced from the stage at 5:30PM with a raffle to follow. Sarah Gerth is in charge of this event and it's open to everyone. She encourages everyone, even men, to show off their baking skills. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Jackson County Nursing Home Veterans Cheer Baskets.
Pet & Bike Parade
12PM - Main Stage
Fun for the kids start at noon with the Pet & Bike Parade. Participants will line up in front of the stage. Children are encouraged to docorate their bike or bring their favorite pet.
Parade Registration
12PM- Main Stage
Registration for the 40th Crothersville Red, White & Blue Festival Parade begins at noon in the parking lot of the Alliance Bible Church at the corner of Moore & East Street. Grand Marshall is Doris Kovener of Crothersville. Doris is a charter member of the festival committee. To commemorate the 40th Festival the committee will celebrate with a 40-40-40. We are asking for 40 Veterans to walk the last 40 feet of the parade in celebration of the 40th Festival. Understanding some veterans will need assistance, a famly member is encouraged to walk with them. Veterans may wear full dress uniform, their hat or patriotic attire. To sign up to walk veterans can call Doris Kovener at 812.793.2573 A map of the Parade route will be posted soon. The Parade will begin at 4PM.
Jerry Zollman
12:30PM- Main Stage
Jerry Zollman will be taking the stage at 12:30PM and entertaining us for the afternon.
Photo Contest
Winners will announced at 5:30pm- Main Stage
The Photo contest will return this year with entries being accepted from 11am to 1pm. Judging begins at 1:30pm. Categories are nature, family, patriotic and life in Vernon Twp. Photos will be on display throughout the day in the photo booth located in front of the high school main entrance. Participants may pick up their photo that evening from 6 to 8pm. Winners will announced at 5:30pm from the stage.
Change of Face
6:30PM- Main Stage
Taking the stage at 6:30pm willl be rock and roll band, Change of Face .
Gun Fire
7:30PM- Main Stage
Gun Fire singing county and rock will close out the fesitval prior to Zambelli Fireworks.
Zambelli Fireworks
10:00PM- Bard Street Park
There will be wholesome family centered fun for everyone as Zambelli Fireworks will provide a patriotic fireworks show. Robert Becker and Radio 96.3 WJAA will broadcast live starting at 9pm at Bard Street Park and will start the count down at 10pm as Zambelli Fireworks lights up the Crothersville sky. Visitors are encouraged to come early with their lawn chairs or blanket, mark their spot and head to the festival grounds and enjoy the food and visit with family and friends. 3D glasses will be availiable for $1 for extra enjoyment.
